Date: July 25, 2026 | Reading time: 2 minutes.
Context:
After completing the onboarding, the next step was to determine the specific part of the WordPress (es_CR) ecosystem where I would be doing my translations.
Procedimiento: Revisé la plataforma oficial y decidí enfocarme en la sección de Plugins (Complementos). Exploro el directorio para elegir una herramienta popular que necesite adaptar sus textos o botones al español de Costa Rica

Obstacles:
The initial challenge was seeing Costa Rica’s main bar at 100% and thinking there was no work to be done. Then, when I got into the plugins, the difficulty was deciding which one to start with, since there are more than 60,000 options.
Lessons Learned:
I realized that the core system is usually complete, but the community’s ongoing work focuses on the thousands of plugins and themes that developers update every week.
Reflection:
Knowing that there are so many chains still pending in the plugins gave me the peace of mind I needed to reach my goal of 100 translations. I’ve already defined my area; now it’s time to start translating
